Technically I should be considered a toddler the day I started cruising around. But now that I am over 1 year old, it's just more "official" that I am no longer a baby. So what's different between baby Lucas and toddler Lucas?
1. I no longer drink Enfamil
Despite everything mommy has read over the internet about how it's common for babies to have problems switching from formula to cow's milk, I once again showed everyone how easy-going I am. In fact, I don't even mind drinking chilled cow's milk straight from the fridge!
2. I made tiny baby steps forward
Mommy has always wondered when I would make my first steps as I have mastered crawling for a while already, yet don't seem to show much interest to practice walking. Often times, I would just relax and let mommy or daddy drag me forward when they try to hold my arms and coax me into walking. As an expert-level crawler, I have to admit it is hard to justify learning to walk when I can get to pretty much everywhere on all fours faster than daddy or mommy. But shortly after my 1st birthday, I did surprise them by taking 2-3 tiny baby steps forward when I wanted to grab something from them really badly -- their Nexus One!
3. I learned a few new tricks
Nanny May and mommy love to teach me new tricks, such as wave bye-bye, blow kisses, etc. It makes me happy seeing mommy, daiyeema and nanny May respond to my gestures with big smiles and compliments. Occasionally, I would even surprise them with self-taught tricks such as clapping and climbing. Check this out:
And oh by the way, did I tell you since the filming of the above video I have mastered climbing up and down, in and out of just about everything in the house? My next new gig: Climb down the staircase!
4. I have 8 teeth now
Within 3 months, I went from looking like a rodent (with 2 teeth only) to now a toddler with 8 white pearlies, 4 top and 4 bottom. Wanna see my cute beautiful smile?
5. I will be a big brother soon!
This is perhaps the most perplexing thing for me. I heard that someone called "baby sister" would arrive this summer and that I would be her "big brother". I even got a shirt that says "Big Bro" on it. But frankly, I have no clue what that meant other than a reference that both she and I would be "passengers" of our new family car, an Acura MDX. Can't wait to meet this "baby sister" person.
Alright. That's it for now folks. Let me go take a nice warm bath and get ready for bed. Ciao.
